test#3:shelter

A video project collaboration with Mecos working as the Shelter Video Collective (SVP). The SVP is comprised of women identified folks who have lived at a women’ shelter in Toronto. As an experiment to extend the Shelter Video Project (working title) out of the video frame and onto the street, an installation video was created in the fall of 2017. Test#3:shelter was presented as a guerilla screening on Toronto City Hall at Nuit Blanche 2018.  Test#3:shelter addresses the lived experiences of institutional violence related to homelessness by women. Co-creators engaged the audience and passers by about realities of homelessness and institutional violence.
